Awareness Days
Plastic pollution, overfishing and rising water temperatures are just some of the issues affecting the health of the world’s oceans. It’s up to everyone to take action to preserve ocean life, and with three year mark of the UN Oceans Decade approaching, there’s never been a more vital time to engage and inspire young people as ocean advocates.

The ocean covers over 70% of the earth's surface and produces at least 50% of the planet's oxygen. It is also home to the majority of earth's biodiversity, and is vital to our economy, with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030. Despite this, the oceans need our protection more than ever. Over 90% of big fish populations are depleted, and 50% of coral reefs have been destroyed. As we take more from the ocean than can be restored, we must help young people to truly understand the ocean and how humanity relates to it, in order to protect it for future generations.
Lyfta has a series of immersive human stories which all give your pupils the opportunity to explore and understand the complexities of preserving our oceans.
