We’ve made it to the end of another school year, and it has certainly been another challenging one. Many colleagues in the sector say that 2021/22 has been even tougher than the previous year, with the deepening impact of the pandemic and global affairs being significant. Children and young people’s mental health, anxiety and lack of motivation have all seen a growing negative impact.

At Lyfta we are here to support you to nurture hope, aspiration and respect in your pupils. We’ve come up with a list of suggested reading that will broaden horizons even further next academic year. Of course you might want to switch off completely, BUT if you want to keep up with your professional development over the summer then read on!

A network of schools and students coming together

Our Lyfta Live lessons this year have brought together thousands of children across the UK in a series of live lessons delivered by our team, via Zoom. On Earth Day, over 1,300 students joined us to explore One Billion Trees and learn about active citizenship and deforestation. In June an incredible 201 classes, from over 100 schools (some 6,030 students) joined us as we introduced We Live Among Volcanoes. Together we experienced the sights and sounds of a live volcano and learned about the work of the scientists working in the area.
